Chelsea Taylor is an editor who’s work has screened worldwide, including such festivals as SXSW, Sundance, Berlinale, and Palm Springs. She has worked with clients such as MTV, Vice, NBC, HBO, A24, and more.

Chelsea started her career as a production assistant working on live events and documentaries. It was her job as an assistant editor at Viacom that opened her eyes to post-production. During her first week the department was so busy with the MTV Movie Awards they threw her into the edit chair. Already with a passion for technology and storytelling, Chelsea thrived and quickly became a lead editor. There she edited a variety of content: documentary shorts, commercials, concerts and more.

Since then Chelsea has joined the Motion Picture Editor’s Guild and made the jump to editing scripted features. She edited the short film Tangles & Knots which premiered at SXSW, Berlinale, Palm Springs. She edited the feature film Milkwater which premiered at the Brooklyn Film Festival and won Best Screenplay. Most recently she edited Alieu the Dreamer (BET/ Paramount).

Chelsea associate edited Time: The Kalief Browder Story, and assisted on The Sound of Silenceboth of which premiered at Sundance. Other assistant editing credits include Port Authority (Cannes), Joe Pera Talks With You (Comedy Central), Ramy Youssef: Feelings (HBO), and most recently Ramin Bahrani’s The White Tiger (Netflix).

Her biggest passion has been volunteering for Blue Collar Post Collective, a non-profit that supports emerging talent in post-production, where she served as co-president for 2 years. Through the grass roots organization, she mentors young talent and organizes inclusive educational events around New York. When she’s not editing, you can find her walking around Madison Square Park with her bulldog Peyton, and exploring new restaurants around the city.
